Lance Corvus was a highly ambitious man who lived during the age of the American Empire and served in its armed forces. Cunning and highly ambitious, Corvus quickly worked his way up through the ranks of the Imperial Military, eventually becoming its Grand Marshal (Supreme Commander). However, his true desires always were to become Emperor.
In late 2023, Corvus orchestrated the assassination of Emperor William Aborshine himself. Aborshine’s children, the legitimate heirs, immediately began competing for the throne. Corvus’ opportunity to seize power finally came when the Imperial Governing Council, unable to mediate the situation and terrified of a civil war, approached Corvus and offered to give the Emperorship to him.
Corvus accepted and devised a plan to murder the remaining Aborshines. Once all preparations had been completed, Corvus enacted his plan and was sworn in as Emperor by the council. Despite the efforts of his forces, one sibling, Michael Aborshine, survived the attempt on his life and went into hiding. Corvus did not get to enjoy his role as Emperor for long, as he himself was assassinated mere weeks later, the council was placed under siege by the Imperial secret police, and the Empire fragmented into numerous successor states.
