The Republic of Hoosierland, simply known as Hoosierland is a sovereign state located in North America. Nominally a democratic republic led by Autumn, Hoosierland is arguably the most sparsely populated nation in North America, with the entire country being comprised of rural and agricultural areas. It is notable for having no organized population centers, and is bordered to the south by Carolina, to the southwest by Tulsa, to the west by Cheyenne, to the north by the similarly named Hoosierville, to the northeast by New Canada and to the east by Vermont. A founding member of the Union of North American States (UNAS), Hoosierland was briefly considered to be one of the most powerful nations early on, however quickly fell behind other nations in terms of development.
Diplomatically, most of Hoosierland's early history was marked by a close alliance with Carolina and negative relations with Cheyenne, with the nation playing a key role in the Enchantment Table Crisis which served as a prelude to the Carolina-Cheyenne War. Hoosierland later participated in the Coalition intervention in Cheyenne, though the nation formally apologized for its involvement in the intervention in October of 2023 as relations between the two nations improved. Hoosierland's economy is dependent on the farming and cultivation of potatoes, and potato farms make up a large percentage of the nation's land area, with the nation being one of the largest potato exporters in the world historically. Sheep farming was also historically a major cornerstone of the nation's economy, though the nation formally abolished sheep farming in October 2023 after a series of incidents involving the nation's sheep farms. As of October 2023 the nation is split into five territories: the Trans-Mississippi Unorganized Territory, Hoosier Home Territory, Lake Michigan Agricultural Territory, Ohio River International Zone and Autonomous Territory of Angola. Of these, only the Lake Michigan Autonomous Territory has any permanent player population, though the Ohio River International Zone has a massive villager population.
